Our life to music

Isn't it funny how certain songs remind you of events in your life? There is this Phil Collins song that always reminds me of my bestie Melissa...Can you feel it comin' in the air tonight! Any Hootie or NKOTB song brings back memories of dancing in Hannah's room. The Martina McBride song "Independence Day" reminds me of Ansley singing at the top of her lungs on the softball bus headed to another game. We danced to "I cross my heart" by George Strait on the night we got engaged and to Etta James " At last" at our wedding. Well I decided to add music to our blog and it is the music of Emma. As soon as I found out I was having a girl, the Tim McGraw song " My little Girl" sent me into tears as I imagined our little girl growing up and developing that relationship with her daddy. She already has her daddy wrapped! We listened to the Darius Rucker song "It won't be like this for long" on our way home from the hospital with Emma. Of course, I bauled like a baby, but the song is beautiful and reminds me every day that I need to enjoy every minute of Emma. Before long, she will be all grown up! Do you have any songs that bring back memories?

One Month Check-Up

It is so hard to believe that this little bundle of absolute joy has been in our lives for a whole month! We took Emma for her one month check-up today. She is perfect. 9 lbs. 15 oz., 22 in. long, and growing, growing, growing! Poor thing did have to get a shot today and I think it hurt me more than her. She was such a trooper! I am so blessed to have such a good baby! Praise God! To him be the glory!

Emma's First Valentine's Day

Emma celebrated her first holiday at home with Mom and Dad. We spent the day watching TV, relaxing, and doing a little shopping. The picture shows Emma with her Valentine's Day gifts: a new bouncy chair, a book, and a bear. She even sent out valentines to her favorite people...Grandparents, Daddy, Aunts and Uncles, and a very special valentine to her friend, Charlie. Hope everyone has a nice Valentine's Day!

First Smile Caught on Camera

Emma loved cuddling with her Papa. My dad came up last Saturday and spent the weekend with us. He got to spend some alone time with Emma on Sunday night after the rest of our company left. Papa was very good at getting Emma to calm down and go to sleep. We even got this little smile on camera as she was snuggled up to Papa. Oohhhhh...I have a feeling that Papa is in trouble. He might have another little girl that has him wrapped around her little finger. Hey Emma....we gotta share him. He was wrapped around my finger first. Love you Daddy!

Splish, Splash I was takin' a bath....

Emma's cord (affectionantly called "the stump") finally fell off today and we were able to give her a good bath. She liked the actually bath, but hated getting out. You can probably tell from the picture that she hates being wet and cold....to tell you the truth, I hate it too. It is by far my least favorite part of showering and bathing.

I'm curious...

I added the blog followers list. I have some followers from all over the country...make yourself known...come on Arizona, New Jersey, Maryland, Kentucky, Florida, and all others. Leave me a note and tell me about you! I'd love to know who my followers are!

Top Ten

I loved being pregnant, but these are the Top Ten Things I am glad I can do now!!

10. My belly button has made it's return. Granted it does not look the same and it is surrounded by (I hate to say) some stretch marks, but I am glad it went back to it's appropriate spot.

9. Back pain is gone. In the later months, I could barely walk, sit, sleep, etc.

8. No more kick counts. I would sit at work and home obsessed over when I felt the last kick.

7. My vericose veins look a lot better. These horrible looking veins run in my family and they became very bad in my legs during pregnancy, but I am happy to report that they are looking better now that the weight is coming off.

6. No one asks you about your weight. It is definately not appropriate to ask any woman about her weight, but some people think that just because you are pregnant, you want to talk about it. So NOT true.

5. I can shave my legs, paint my toenail, and give myself a pedicure.

4. I can wear my cute shoes again. For the last couple of months of pregnancy, I could only wear my tennis shoes. My feet did grow a little during pregnancy, so I need new shoes and that is a blessing in itself! I heart shoes!!

3. I can eat subs again. Oh, how I have missed Jersey Mike's. That is the first thing I wanted to eat after giving birth, but since it was 1:00 in the morning, I had to wait until the next day to get my meal. Boy, was I happy! It never tasted so good!

2. Sleeping on my stomach...enough said.

And the #1 reason it's great to not be pregnant anymore is......

1. I get to snuggle up to my little doodle-bug anytime I want to!
