Happy Birthday Sweetheart!

On Saturday we celebrated John Allen's birthday with dinner at his fav, Outback Steakhouse and then headed home for some red velvet birthday cake. We hoped all day that Emma would come and share a birthday with her daddy, but I guess she wants her own day!
Happy Birthday Sweetheart!!

No Pics...but we had a great time!

My parents, Memom, and Reese and Meredith came up to visit on Christmas Day. They left yesterday. It was so nice to get to spend time with them. As usual, we spent the days going to various shops looking for the "deals." We bought Emma several Christmas outfits for next year. (Just hoping we got the right size!) I love shopping after Christmas. I even bought some of my gifts for next Christmas...doesn't hurt to get a head start. I know I will be very busy this time next year. Mom tried her best to get Emma to come early. She had me out walking in the stores every day and wanted me to eat some spicy food to move things along. All of her efforts did not work. Emma is still warm and cozy in my belly and doesn't seem to want to move any time soon.

We had our 39 week appointment yesterday. Turns out everything is fine with my gallbladder. I have not changed one lick....still one centimeter. I started crying in the doctor's office. (hormones I'm guessing!) I have had some very swollen feet this last week and my back is still killing me. The doctor's only words of comfort were (and I quote) "It can't be that much longer. I'll give you a sleeping pill to help with the back pain at night. " I wanted to ask HIM if he had ever felt this type of back pain. Had HE ever had swollen feet that will hardly fit into HIS shoes. Men should just keep their mouths closed when it comes to pregnancy complaints. I'm really hoping that this particular doc is not on call the day we go in labor. He doesn't have the greatest bedside manner.

Well I head back to work on Friday unless Emma decides to come on out. (still praying she does) I don't forsee that I will have loads of patience to deal with 25 second graders on their first week back to school after Christmas break, but you do what you have to. I don't want to waste any days at home when I don't have Emma to cuddle up to.

A Quiet Christmas

Since I was not allowed to travel this close to the due date, we spent Christmas in Raleigh this year. We enjoyed a relaxing day of watching various Christmas movies and cleaning the house. I cooked my own version of Christmas dinner. We had a roast, homemade macaroni and cheese, sweet potato casserole, and green bean casserole. All in all, we had a great day but definately missed spending time with our families. Family is so important to both of us. It is hard to believe that next year Emma will be celebrating her first Christmas! We can't wait to be Santa!

One centimeter

We had our 38 week doctors appointment today. I am 100% effaced and dialated one centimeter. Doesn't seem like a lot when you look at a ruler, but I am very excited about it. I have had some swelling in my ankles and a little in my face and I have been very itchy for the last couple of days. The doctor is checking my blood to make sure I don't have a gallbladder condition called Colestasis. I should know by Friday or Monday depending on how fast they can analyze my blood. If it turns out that I do have the condition, I will deliver very soon! Scary but exciting!
I wanted to take the time today to wish everyone a very MERRY CHRISTMAS! Remember the reason for the season, take the time to read the Christmas story (one of my favorite Christmas traditions), enjoy time with family and friends, eat all the yummy food, and RELAX!

The Combat Zone

So this is what our living room and kitchen look like today. John Allen decided that it would a good idea to rip up the carpet and linolium (?) in those rooms and install hardwoods. I am excited about it. It is something that we have wanted to do for a long time but I am a little stressed over the timing. I mean, I am officially full term today! Emma could come at any time. Say a little prayer that the floors get completed. I am in full nesting mode, and it is not helping that there is dust everywhere and no floors in two rooms of my house. (And yes that is a crack in the concrete that we found when we pulled up the carpet.) Not to mention, I cannot be in the house because of the fumes from the glue. I am spending the night with a friend...big thanks Malana! Good thing Emma's room is complete and out of the way of the combat zone that is now my living room and kitchen. Hopefully, I'll be posting pics of the finished product soon!!

So this is how it all begins...

We had our 36 week doctor appointment today. Everything is going well. I am 60 % effaced and at a -1 station. Emma is weighing around 6 pounds. Doctor Bass says that I am ahead of most women at this stage and he guesses she might come a little early...let's pray! We can't wait to hold our little girl and give her a million hugs and kisses. I think John Allen is a little jealous that I get to have her all the time now, so I am sure he will make up for lost time as soon as she makes her debut!
I have one more week of school before Christmas break. I am looking forward to being able to sleep in and keep my feet up for most of the day for the weeks proceeding her birth. I am getting so tired by the end of the day! Twenty-five seven year olds don't let you sit down too much!
Please keep us in your prayers as we enter this final stage. It is hard to believe that we only have a month or less until Emma will be in our arms! (God....if you're listening....Emma would make a wonderful Christmas present...please pass that information on to Santa!! Thanks!)

Emma's Finished Room, well almost!

Check out pics of Emma's finished room. My good friend at work is painting a picture that we are going to put over her crib. Other than that, we are finished with her room! You should be able to view the photos in the kodak gallery. Enjoy!

The crash...

Well the beautiful Christmas tree lasted all of an hour. We had just settled in to watch a little "Gray's" last night when we heard the crash. The tree fell over crushing most of our ornaments. In my pregnant state, this sent me over the edge. I spent the following hour crying over the ornament my Dad gave me at age 10 (Scarlet O'Hara from Gone With The Wind, one of my fav. movies), the new ornament my mom had just bought with Emma's name on it, and many other sentimental treasures that were now shattered on the floor of our dining room. Poor John Allen had no idea what to do with me. He just kept saying that we would replenish all of the ornaments. Doesn't he understand that some of them are irreplaceable? Well, we finally got the tree back up and cleaned up the water and shattered glass on the floor. Hopefully the tree will not fall again, it very well might put me into labor. :)

View from the Outside

Our Tree

Every year we get our Christmas tree and eat a little pizza. In years past, John Allen has walked our tree from the nearest tree buying place. This year, we decided to forgo that tradition and crammed the tree into the trunk of trusty 'ole Andy Altima. Isn't she beautiful!

Some more pics of Emma's room...still waiting on the rocking chair.

Thanksgiving Day

This is my favorite picture from Thanksgiving Day. My cousin's little girl, Ava, fell asleep in John Allen's arms. So sweet! Can't wait to see him with our little girl!
Thanksgiving Day was everything I hoped for! I got to spend lots of time with family, JAP's and mine. We ate, shopped, talked, and just enjoyed time together. My aunts threw me a baby shower...just family. I got several gift cards and used them to get our baby monitor. (Which I love!!) We got many more cute things, outfits, bath items, and more. Thank you everyone!! I know this little girl will be showered with love from you all as soon as she arrives!
Over thanksgiving break, we got to see several good friends. On Wednesday, we stopped to visit with Monty and Lindsay and their new little one, Charlie. (such a cutie) On Saturday morning, I met my bestie's Melissa and Ansley at Cracker Barrel for some yummy pancakes!! I love getting to spend time with my girls and wish I lived much closer so that we could get together more often. Saturday after the Gamecock slaughter, (Clemson football game...Go Tigers!!) I got to go and see another new mom. My college roommate, Courtney just had her baby girl, Baker. She is precious and such a good little baby! I had so much to be thankful for this year...a healthy pregnancy, supportive and loving family and friends, safe travels, and our jobs...just to name a few!

She "dropped" the bomb on me...

Well I was told several times today that I am starting to drop. This would make sense considering I had to call for emergency bathroom breaks about 100 times today. (For those that aren't teachers, we are not allowed to "go" whenever we need to.One of the perks of teaching.) I will post a picture soon so I can get your opinion.
We are getting ready to go to Clemson for Thanksgiving! Can't wait to see our families and get to spend some much needed "mom and dad" time. (Reese and Meredith too, I guess!) I miss them so much!

Calling all mothers...

As motherhood quickly approaches, I am calling all mothers for their best advice. Being a teacher, I am not one to reinvent the wheel. I am more than happy to accept advice, pointers, etc. Please leave a message on this blog with your best "mommy" advice. Looking forward to hearing all the great tips!

33 weeks...and bring on the Christmas lights!

We had a doctor's appointment early this morning. Things are still looking good. Emma is measuring right on target....33 weeks. She is still head down...woo hoo! Blood pressure, weight, and everythings else looks great! I have another appointment in two weeks and after that I will be visiting the good 'ole doc every week. We are getting so excited about meeting our little girl. Her room is almost complete. We are planning our last trip before the birth...Thanksgiving with the whole fam. I have my final baby shower on Thanksgiving Day...thanks Aunties! I am planning to take my hospital bag, Emma's bag, and carseat down to South Carolina with us just in case. John Allen laughs at this idea, but I am overly prepared and would not want anything to happen in Clemson, SC that I was not prepared for!
I am so happy that I will get to spend at least one holiday with my family this year. Thanksgiving is so much fun. Lots of eating, Our annual Football game vs. the Boleman family (guess I'll have to sit this one out this year, but that is probably a good thing for our team...I'm not that coordinated!) , shopping on Black Friday, spending time with the ladies talking and laughing around the table, watching movies with my Daddy, the list could go on and on! I love the holiday season..I'm even decorating for Christmas this weekend. I guess the snow we had yesterday got me in the mood. The only sad thing about this year is that we will be spending Christmas alone. Just the two of us, but I know we will be fine because we are receiving the best Christmas present ever...our little Emma Kathryn!!!! Can't wait!

Babies, Babies, Babies!!!

We want to congratulate our good friends and new parents...

Courtney and Lacy Williams welcomed little darling girl, Baker Elizabeth on Sunday November 16th!

Monty and Lindsay Alexander welcomed handsome baby boy, Charlie on Monday November 10th!

We hope Charlie and Baker will be two of Emma's good friends, just as their parents have been to us! Love you all!

The best co-workers ever!

The second grade team rocks! Thanks again ladies!

Rolesville Elementary Baby Shower

My lovely second grade team hosted a baby shower for me today in our school library. Again, I was blown away by all the beautiful gifts for our little Emma. We received so many cute things, including Emma's first Clemson cheerleading outfit and overalls. (Go Tigers! Thanks Kelly and Leigh!) I love my school and the people I work with. If we do get to move, I will definately miss the bond I have created with all these wonderful ladies. A big thanks to all who attended, I can't wait to introduce Emma to all of you!
On a side note, the third trimester tiredness has set in. I had a hard day today. I took my class out to recess today. After recess every day, we have snack and I read to the class from Charlotte's Web. Today I think I almost fell asleep in the rocking chair while reading about Wilbur's trip to the fair. I am planning to get some good sleep tonight, but I guess I will have to miss Grey's Anatomy...tivo is my friend.

More Pics of Emma's Room

Company, Shopping, and Decorating...Oh My!

Mom and Dad Price came up to visit this past weekend. Joan and I enjoyed a day of retail therapy on Saturday while the "boys" watched football at home. We got several nice things for Emma's room and finally hung some things on the wall. We are by far not done, but things are moving along swimmingly! I can't wait to have her room complete. Well I guess it won't be truly complete until little Emma is in it!
School was out on Tuesday and I spent the day preparing our bags for the hospital. We are all packed and ready to go. Now it's just a waiting game...I just can't wait to see our little darling. I wonder if she has my eyes? John Allen's ears? What will she look like? Only eight short weeks or less....hopefully less!

Let the kick counts begin...

We had our 31 week appointment today. Things are going very well. She is right on target for weight and is sounding wonderful (140 beats per minute!) She seems to not be affected by my terrible stomach virus, but I have lost 2 pounds since my last visit. Doctor says that is normal considering I haven't been able to keep much down the last couple of days. They put me on some medicine for the vomiting that made me pass out. When I say pass out, I mean "see you in 12 hours" pass out.
John Allen came home early from work on Tuesday to take care of me, he picked up the meds at CVS on his way in. I took the meds around 11 and didn't wake up again until 8. John Allen said I had been a very good patient, easy to take care of . Of course, I wake up and cannot seem to find my "nurse." While I was "passed out", he had gone to the dry cleaners, liquor store, grocery store, and to get some dinner. I found him on the porch in the rocking chair enjoying a little drink. I think he might need to work on his nursing skills, but he did fix me some rockin' mashed potatoes for dinner. Stickin' with the bland foods for right now!
We also got our kick count instructions at our appointment today. She has really been active these past couple of days! So I am hoping from here on out, we will have no problem getting 7 kicks within two hours. Can't believe that she will be here so soon!

Columbia Baby Shower

We had another wonderful baby shower. We are so blessed to have so many caring friends in our lives. We received so many cute things for little Emma. It was another loaded car trip back to Raleigh. Please pray that things will work out soon for us to move. It is really getting hard to make all the trips to Columbia and Clemson. It is so tiring and long.
Much thanks to Carol and Jane for hosting the shower and for the delicious food and yummy pink lemonade! (my fav) John Allen got to experience his first baby shower. He tried his darndest (??) to get out of going, but we made him go. I think he had a pretty good time! Thanks to everyone that came, it was great to see all of you! We can't wait for you all to meet little Emma Kathryn.

Coming soon...

We have lots of new info to post about, but I have been sick with a terrible stomach flu. Nasty! I am starting to feel a little better and can finally keep some very bland food down. Updates coming soon!

My Little Girl

What a cute book about a daddy and his little girl. The book "My Little Girl" is written by country singer, Tim McGraw. It is the story of a girl named, Katie and her spectacular day with her daddy.
The book jacket reads...
"Katie is so excited about her special day with Dad. He's promised something spectacular! But what could it be? Best to be prepared for anything. A tiara and gown for the royal ball, a pink tutu and tights for the ballet, and - just in case- jungle boots for traipsing through the heart of Africa. Hey wait just a time-out minute! What was that Dad said? We're going to do- nothing in particular! What kind of spectacular day is that?
Terribly cute and worth every penny! We can't wait to read it to our little girl!

I am pretty darn proud of myself!

Well I don't want to brag, but I can be pretty crafty and creative. John Allen and I went shopping yesterday. We stopped by my favorite store, Swoozie's. They had these fabric covered wipe containers for almost $20.00! I thought to myself...I can make that! So I took my happy little self to Wally World (Wal-Mart) today and bought fabric and ribbon. While JAP was out at the driving range, I settled down in the living room with my hot glue gun and the "wild ruccus began!" It took about 30 minutes, but I have to admit that I am pretty darn proud of myself! I can't wait to make some more for all my friends that are expecting!

Our family just keeps on growing!

My aunt and uncle are expecting their fourth! Such exciting news. They already have the most wonderful kids in the world, my darling Madison (7), cutie pie Mallory (3), and the heartbreaker Brett (1). We could not be more excited to add more babies to our ever growing Carroll brood! Madison called me the other night to tell me the news. She started off by telling me about the new family pet, Biscuit. He is a cute little mixed puppy, golden retriever and something. Then proceeded to tell me about how things were going in second grade. (so hard to believe my sweet little Madison is in 2nd grade!) Then she said "My mommy is having a baby." Thinking she was confused, I said "No, I'm having a baby." She swung back with "I know, but my mommy is too!" I asked her when the baby was coming. She replied " On Friday..." So cute! I heard my uncle Mike in the background yelling "We have a sonogram on Friday!" So anywho, good luck to the Carroll's up in Maryland...we are thinking of you and praying things go well!

Hospital Tour

Last night we visited Wake Med for our hospital tour. The area around the hospital is not that nice. According to John Allen, " It's the ghetto!", but the inside of the hospital and the maternity ward is very nice. The rooms are spacious and they have many safety features to keep mom and baby safe.
We also had our 29 week doctor appointment today. Things are still going well with Emma, she is still head down and ready to go! I had to get another shot of Rhogam, BOOO. The doc recommended that I get a little extra rest this weekend on account of my terrible, wicked, nasty cold. I wish the students in my class would learn to cover their little mouths when they sneeze, cough, etc! If you are a teacher, you know that this is wishful thinking. I am looking forward to a relaxing weekend!

We finished painting...

Here is a preview pic of Emma's room. We finished painting yesterday. (hard to see in the photo, but the walls are pale green)We still have lots of decorating left to do and are planning to get a pink rocker for the corner under the window. This is so fun! Hopefully we will be posting pics of Emma's finished room before Thanksgiving! Keep looking!

Pricked and Poked...We're 27 Weeks!

Our doctor's visit today went well. The "juice" wasn't that bad, but it was hard to get down. About 15-20 minutes after drinking it, Emma started bouncing around! Can I say...sugar rush! The doctor even commented about how active she was. He put the "hear the heartbeat" thing on my belly and she kicked it right off. Dr. Harden said "She's fiesty this morning!" I gave about a gallon of blood to be tested for almost everything. (just kidding, but it was a lot!) We will hear back from the tests soon. We are now going to the doctor every two weeks, and in two short months we will go every week. I counted it up today...only 8 more doctor's visits before Emma gets here! So much to do!

Emma's room is coming together...

We have finally gotten all of Emma's furniture together. Well, I guess I should say John Allen finally got the furniture together. He would not let me put things together...he has been so cute about getting Emma's room ready and keeping it "uncluttered!" We still have lots of decorating to do, but we are glad to have the "bones"of her room. We are planning to paint the room this weekend and maybe pick up a couple of items for decorating. Take a look at that closet...this girl better love pink. So many cute outfits!! I can't believe that we are less than three months away from meeting her, holding her, kissing her, smelling her! In three short months, her sweet little face will be sleeping in this crib. So amazing! I can't wait! We are headed to the doctor in the morning for our blood glucose test. I am not looking forward to drinking that sweet, sweet juice!

Sunday Shower Pics

Church Baby Shower on Sunday

We scheduled both of our Clemson baby showers in the same weekend to save money on gas. My second shower of the weekend was held at Pendleton First Baptist Church (my home church). The ladies of my mom's Sunday School class hosted. I was overwhelmed by the turnout and the generous gifts. Emma is set with clothing for the first 6 months of her life... everything pink. She also got so many nice things for her nursery and bath time! They (of couse) decorated in all pink and even had her name around the punch bowl. How cute!! All of these ladies have known me since I was a little girl. I grew up looking up to them as mothers and strong Christian women. They have set such a good example and Emma is going to be so blessed to have so many "grandma's." Thank you all for making me and Emma feel so loved...we love you!

Some more pics from Saturday!

Saturday Baby Shower

We received so many cute and useful things for Emma on Saturday. The shower was hosted by my best friends, Ansley and Melissa. Both girls are wonderful mothers and friends. I was so excited to see some of my friends and family. Ansley, Melissa, and Crystal brought their babies...so I got some practice holding and playing with some baby boys. (Crystal has twin boys!) Melissa's mom hosted the shower at her house...so beautiful. Everything was decorated with pink...I loved the cake! It was monagrammed! I can't wait for Emma to meet all of these wonderful people...they have been so important in my life and helped shape me into the person I am today! I love you girls!

Movin' on Up!

We had our ultrasound yesterday to check the position of the placenta. Just like the doc predicted, the placenta has moved up! We were so relieved! We are no longer diagnosed with a marginal previa!!! Thanks for all the prayers and support over the past couple of months. We have truly felt loved! Bonus...we got some more pics of Emma (although they aren't as good as last time). It was very hard to tell what was what! She is getting so big...weighing in at 1 lb. 11 oz. Right on track!
We have our first baby showers this weekend....can't wait! This is going to be so fun!

25 weeks and a haircut...finally!

I cannot describe to you how good it felt to get my hair cut tonight. It really hasn't been that long, but my hair has been growing like a weed. I have so much more of it too! The lady that cuts my hair lives in my neighborhood and her children attend my school. She cuts hair out of her house. She is awesome! I always leave her house feeling relaxed and looking beautiful. Meg, I love ya! Did I mention she has wonderful, well-behaved kids...love ya'll too Mitchell and Haley! I feel so much lighter!
Well, things went well at the doctor yesterday. Emma still sounds good and I am measuring right on target for 25 weeks. The doc wanted me to schedule another ultrasound for Wednesday to check my placenta. Until then, he doesn't recommend that I travel and to keep my stress level down. Good luck with that...Interims go home to students tomorrow! I'll keep you all posted on how things are going and hopefully we will have some more pics of Emma to post very soon!

Thankful List

After reading my cousin, Sara's blog, I have decided to write a list of things I am thankful for. They are in no particular order. They are...

1. God's Love- I see and feel it every day. I felt it the most on Friday with our little scare, but I also see it in the way he opens a flower so that it can share it's beauty with the rest of the world.

2. Family- They are my rock. There is no other group of people that I would rather be with. They make me feel truly "at home."

3. My John Allen- He is everything to me. I love the way we laugh together, play together, and he always knows how to comfort me.

4. Emma- I haven't met her yet, but my love for her oozes out. I never thought I could love something so much...or worry about something so much.

5. Friends- The kind that make you laugh until your belly hurts, cry with you, and have been there for you no matter what.

6. Chocolate- When you need a pick me up, chocolate is always there!

7. Christmas- My favorite season. The season of giving. I love the smells of Christmas...trees, cinnimon, and the mall on a busy Friday night. I love the sounds of Christmas...children laughing, jingle bells, and songs. I love the way Christmas makes me feel all warm inside!

8. Clemson Football Season- The weather is cool and the leaves are starting to change. You can smell the hamburgers in the air as you make your way through a sea of orange. You get to see old friends and enjoy time together. And of course, the game!

9. Comfortable Shoes- I love tennis shoes and Rainbows. I wish I could wear them every day. Don't they go with every outfit?

10. My home- In this time of financial worry, I am happy to be in a warm home. Even if the home is farther away from "home" than we would like.

Thanks Sara! This was such a wonderful idea!

5 things all kids should know before starting school...

1. MANNERS! Need I say more...they should know to say thank you, please, I'm sorry, yes ma'am, and no sir.

2. How to take care of things. Students in my class are struggling to take care of things...pencils (end up with bitten off erasers and broken in half), books (no covers, missing pages), glue sticks (dried out because the top was left off), Markers (capless and dried out)...the list could go on and on.

3. How to put things back where you found them!

4. RESPECT...for your teacher, other adults, peers, and yourself.

5. How to tie your shoe, buckle your belt, zip your pants, etc.

Can I get an AMEN, Sister!

Scary Hospital Trip

Around 3:00 today I noticed a little blood when I went to the bathroom. Being a first time mom, I FREAKED! I have a placenta previa so I was told to call the doctor if I had any bleeding. So I immediately called the doc. While on the phone, the school fire alarm starting going off! By this time, I am hysterically crying. Good thing my class was in Music! I call the principal and got someone to take care of my class for the rest of the day... off I go to the hospital. (The doctors at the office had already left for the day!) I got in the car and starting driving. Emma starting kicking like crazy, she had never been that active before. I was praying and I think that was God's (and Emma's) way of telling me that everything was going to be ok. John Allen met me and drove the rest of the way to the hospital. I couldn't believe how quickly I was checked in and things seemed to be moving quickly. I was hooked up to fetal monitors and Emma was kicking like crazy! She does not like to be messed with! Her heart rate was wonderful and strong. So relieved! The doctor came by and discussed how the blood was probably related to my previa. He instructed me to take it easy this weekend and that if the bleeding continued we would have to talk about possible bed rest! Auuugh! Please pray that it does not come to that! He also let me know that I would have to get my Rhogam shot early since I had a "bleed." (Rhogam is for RH negative blood) The nurse came a took my blood to be tested in the lab before I could receive my shot. About 4 hours later, I received the shot! So painful and freezing cold! We finally left the hospital around 8:30...tired, hungry, thirsty, and relieved! Please keep all of us in your prayers. We go back to the doc on Thursday for a checkup.

Let's get ready to rumble...

We are so excited! We ordered Emma's furniture on Sunday and we are planning to paint her room this weekend (light green). The furniture should be here by the weekend!!!! Mom and Dad Alexander bought us the bedding a couple of weekends ago. I am so thrilled to begin to put her room together. Here is a preview of the bedding (pink circles) and the furniture (crib with blue animal bedding) we picked out. Enjoy!

An Ode To My Ankles

My feet are becoming uncomfortable.

Fat, Swollen ankles aren't lovable.

They hurt me all day,

won't they go away!

Just hoping they go back to normal!

***This is a pic of my ankles after the Clemson Football game on Saturday!***

Trip to Death Valley...I thought I would die!

Emma made her first in-utero trip to a Clemson Tiger football game. John Allen, my friend, Julie, and I headed to Clemson on Friday night. We awoke at the crack of dawn on Saturday to head to the Clemson/NC State football game. With food galore and fans in tow, we finally arrived at our tailgating spot around 10:00. We proceeded to unpack all our goodies, chairs, tent, etc. Did I mention that our parking space was about 2 1/2 miles from the stadium (all up hill!) We starting walking to the stadium around 11:00. I thought I would die! Pregnant, Hot, Hills, not a good combo! We finally made it to the game just in time to see the Tigers run down the hill. (My favorite part!) I suffered through the first half and decided to take a break in the shade during half time. By this time, my body looked like a swollen lobster. I put on sunscreen, but I guess the hormones were working overtime! John Allen and Julie went back to the seats for the second half. I told them I would be up in a couple of minutes. I never made it up! Everytime I would try to step out into the sun, I would feel my skin burning and step back into the shade. I stayed under the stadium in the shade and made friends with the police officer. Needless to say, we went straight home after the game and skipped tailgating. I doused myself in aloe vera, took a little nap and enjoyed the air conditioning. Thank God for air conditioning!

No Worries, Just Right

Several of my teaching buddies and I headed to Outback last night for some delicious food and hilarious company. It is so nice to go out with other teachers. Only teachers can understand the life of a teacher...the endless responsibilities, sleepless nights, endless paperwork, and the list could go on and on! My grade level buddies meet for dinner once a month to talk, gab, and complain. We have so much fun! Can't wait till next month ladies! I love you all!
I could kick myself because I keep forgetting to bring my camera! I want to be able to upload photos but I never seem to have my camera! I need to start keeping it in my car or purse...sounds like a good idea!
*****Three days until we leave for Clemson!!! Go Tigers!

Jon and Kate Plus 8

So I have to get a little something off my chest. I love (and I mean love!) the show "Jon and Kate Plus 8." It comes on the Discovery Channel Monday nights at 9 pm. For those of you that don't watch the show, it is about a couple with twins and septuplets. The kids are adorable and I love the way their family interacts. I will admit that Kate can be a little obsessive at times about cleaning, but that is just the way she is!

Recently I have read several articles about the show. The authors of the articles are just plain mean! They accuse Kate of beating up her husband, talking down to him, and some even say that the kids are annoying and have no manners. I think these "authors" need to leave this family alone. If they don't like the show, then don't watch it! There are plently of other shows that you could write about. How about "The Real World" on MTV. Now that is quality television...watching teenagers get drunk, get in fights, and do other nasty things! I'd like to see someone write an article about that, and leave this quality family television alone!
Thanks for listening to me rant!

Send some love...

I think I have fixed our blog to allow anyone to leave a comment. Send us some love!

This is me in my Clemson Orange hoping that Clemson could actually beat the Citadel today. They did 45-17! I am starting to get excited about next weekend. I am taking my teacher assistant, Julie down to Clemson to the NC State/Clemson game. She is a huge Pack fan. The only bad thing is that our tickets are way up in the upper deck! I keep praying that I won't fall.
