Two years of wedded bliss!

Today we are celebrating two years of wedded bliss! I cannot believe how much my love for John Allen has grown over the past two years. On my wedding day, I could not imagine loving him more than I did that day! I look back on that day and wonder why I am so lucky. John Allen is the perfect man! He always knows what to do to make me feel special. He is my rock. This is such a special time for us as we prepare for the birth of our first child. I know John Allen will be a wonderful, loving dad. I cannot wait to see him hold our child!
I came home today to find these lovely orange roses and a sweet note from my darling hubby!! John Allen also surprised me the last week of school with diamond earrings. He hid them in my lunchbox with another sweet note. I know I have the best husband in the world!

Three generations of Friends

Monday morning started with a breakfast at my Mom and Dad's house. My mom had invited her best friends from high school, their mothers and kids over for breakfast. My grandmother (in the pink) is good friends with Mrs. Hunt. They have attended the same church for many years! My mom is good friends with Mrs. Hunt's daughter, Jan. I grew up playing at Jan's house with her daughter Brooke! It was so wonderful to see everyone. We had a great time talking and telling stories. We passed around wedding photos from mine and Ashley's wedding. Then mom went and pulled out her wedding album. We laughed at the bridesmaid's dresses and had a great time looking at how much our parents had changed in 20 plus years! My dad wore a blue tux at his wedding!!! How funny!

Open your legs, Baby Price!!!

John Allen's mom took us to her Doctor's office on Sunday for an ultrasound. My parents drove down to see Baby Price. We were all excited and hoping that we would be able to find out if we are having a girl or a boy. Baby Price would not cooperate. He/She sat with their legs crossed or closed for most of the ultrasound! We could not find out the sex, but we did get to see the baby and took many pictures. It was moving like crazy! We go back to our Doctor on August 7th for an ultrasound! I cannot wait to start calling our baby by name!!
After the ultrasound we all headed to John and Joan's for some lunch! Poke fixed a wonderful dinner which included my favorite...squash casserole and mashed potatoes! I think I had three servings! Yummy! He is such a good cook!

Beautiful Wedding

We attended a beautiful wedding this past weekend! Our friends, Patrick and Fallon tied the knot on July 19th. The weekend began on Friday with the Hogie Golf Tournament. John Allen played on a team with his good friend, Monty. They played a good game and were excited to beat their other friend, Blake! I am so proud of my husband, he has been working so hard and practicing every day. I prayed all day that he would play well and was pleasantly surprised to hear that he won! (not the whole tournament, but they had the better score in their group) The rehearsal dinner was fun and it was great to spend some time with our friends. The band played well into the night and the food was delicious. Saturday was perfect! The wedding was beautiful and the bride (and groom) looked amazing. We had a great time catching up with friends and family. I love attending weddings! It always reminds me and John Allen of the special bond that we share! Congratulations to the happy couple!

Second Trimester...Woohoo!

We are now officially in the second trimester and feeling much better! Our baby is the size of a lemon! I am overjoyed that the nausea has seemed to subside but I do not feel like I have all of my energy back. Maybe soon! We went to the Doctor yesterday and heard our little one again. 150 beats per minute! Excellent strong heartbeat! It's always exciting!

In other news, we have another Open House this weekend. Things are not looking good for us on the housing front. Our neighbors sold their house for 190,000! They are losing a lot of money! I am happy for them because they have been trying to move back to New York for over a year, but this is not good news for our little house! I know things will be fine, but I was really hoping to move closer to our parents before Baby Price arrives. I try to look on the bright side, I have been blessed with many wonderful friends, a loving church family, and a job that I love. Praise God for that!

Take a Guess!

Our good friends, Lindsay and Monty, made a guessing game for their little boy, Charlie. I loved the idea! If you have time, follow the link to our website and enter your guess! Will we have a boy or a girl? You can also make guesses on the length and weight! We will be heading to Columbia next weekend for an early ultrasound on July 20th. Hopefully we will be able to find out the sex of the baby. If we cannot, our official ultrasound is on August 7th! Can't wait!

July Fourth Fiasco

So the fourth started out with a bang and it wasn't fireworks! We spent the first part of the fourth at the pool enjoying some rays and trying to get some sun on my white legs! After the pool, we decided to ride over to Alltel and get new phones. Both of our phones had stopped working. On our way to Alltel, we were sideswipped by a lady pulling out of a parking lot. My poor little car was hurt! We called the police and reported the accident and talked to the insurance company. Needless to say, I was upset. I think part of it was the pregnancy hormones! To get me in a better mood, John Allen went ahead and drove to Alltel and promised me that after Alltel we would go and buy a crib. So off we go to Alltel, we arrive and they are closed! No luck! Off we go to Babies-R-Us. (Second attempt to make me feel better) We arrive and walk to the door as they are locking them up. "We close in one minute" the saleslady says. I started crying in the parking lot! What a bad day! Third attempt to make me feel better, we decide to go to Outback for dinner. That was successful, luckily! We had a wonderful dinner and arrived home just in time to watch the Rolesville fireworks. So I guess you could say that our day started and ended with a BANG!

Softball Champions

Just a little congratulations is in order for John Allen and his Rolesville Baptist Church Men's Softball team. They took home the trophy in the tournament this past week. It was a long night of two softball games and we did not get home until 11:00 pm, but we both really enjoyed the fellowship and of course the game! John Allen had several awesome hits! We really enjoy the softball games and we have met many wonderful people. John Allen is still playing on the Co-Ed team and has THREE games this Saturday!! Pray for him!

12 weeks and counting...

So I have decided that I am a terrible blogger. I will try to keep everyone a little more updated! We had our second doctor's visit on June 18th. We were so excited to get to hear the heartbeat for the first time. So amazing!!! John Allen was shocked at how fast the heart was beating! Things are going perfectly well, but I am looking forward to the end of the first trimester. I would like to be able to eat again and hopefully have some energy! We go back to the doctor on July 14th and again on August 7th for our second trimester ultrasound! We can't wait to find out if we are having a boy or a girl. We both have a feeling that our little "peanut" is a girl. We shall see! It has been so great to have a mother-in-law that is also an OB nurse. She is always there to answer any questions and keep me up to date with what I should be expecting. She is also going to do an ultrasound on July 20th to see if we can find out the sex! I am so blessed to have such loving and supportive in-laws.
