Emma's First Haircut

Emma and Mommy enjoying some time on the beach before dinner. Our family heads to the beach every year. This year, Daddy wasn't able to come with us, but we had fun with Granna and Papa, Uncle Reese and Aunt Mere, and all our cousins and friends.

After spending four days at the beach, Emma and I headed back home early because I got a job interview. Didn't get the job, but I'm glad I got the opportunity to interview. I keep trying to remind myself that there is something out there for me and I will get a job soon! The power of positive thinking and prayer!!

17 Months

It's hard to believe how much Em has changed in a year. At 17 months, Emma...

• likes to copy EVERYTHING I do. Putting on make-up, brushing teeth, cooking dinner, etc.
• wears 18 month clothing and size 4 diapers.
• weighs 25 lbs.
• has learned to say love you and can imiate any word you say.
• says Mommy 1037 times a day. Annoying at times, but I love it!
• loves "wa-wa" (aka water)
• is finally getting some hair on top!
• still uses her "cici" (paci) to get to sleep
• sleeps with cici, sleepy bunny, softie, and dollie. It's a full house come bed time.
• loves golfing with her Daddy
• has learned to sing and is a dancing fool just like her Daddy!
• has a new found love of the Backyardigans.

Emma, you are the best part of every day. I love you more than words can say!

Memorial Day 2010 Style

It was a rainy start to our Memorial Day, so we spent the morning inside playing and cleaning. Emma slept until 10:15!! So we all slept in for the day. Daddy fixed breakfast for his girls and then it was time to play. Emma played for an hour in her new playhouse. (Thanks Tilda and Dad) She loved being in her own space and would not allow anyone to open the door. Later, Emma helped Daddy mow the lawn. She was a little scared of the big lawn mower.

We took a ride and decided to stop and take some pictures at an old church in our hometown. Of course, the ones of Daddy and Em turned out great, but the ones with me....well they weren't so good. Daddy (bless him) is not good with a camera.

Little Em got all patriotic for the day. She has learned the word "No" and uses it ALL the time. She likes to pick out what she wears now and we ususally go through 10-15 outfits before hearing a "Peas, Peas." (That is her version of yes.)

We ended the day with a cookout at Granna and Papa's house.


I am so glad that school (work) is out. I have three more weeks of Philosophical Foundations of Education and then it is on to Technology! I am looking forward to that class.

Em and I will be spending most days together this summer. Do ya'll have any ideas about inexpensive things to do?

Five things I have learned this past month

1. It is nearly impossible to keep a blog updated, work, go to school, prepare for a wedding, prepare for the end of school and keep your sanity. Sorry guys!
2. I need to buy toilet locks. Emma likes to put EVERYTHING in the toilet.
3. I should have hired a different photographer for my wedding. Wish I could do it all over again.
4. Tan fat looks SO much better than white fat. (Even if the tan is only the spray variety.)
5. I love all things turkey. Turkey burgers, turkey hotdogs, turkey chili, and just plain turkey.

School ends in three days. Look for more meatier post to come!
