My Little Girl

What a cute book about a daddy and his little girl. The book "My Little Girl" is written by country singer, Tim McGraw. It is the story of a girl named, Katie and her spectacular day with her daddy.

The book jacket reads...

"Katie is so excited about her special day with Dad. He's promised something spectacular! But what could it be? Best to be prepared for anything. A tiara and gown for the royal ball, a pink tutu and tights for the ballet, and - just in case- jungle boots for traipsing through the heart of Africa. Hey wait just a time-out minute! Terribly cute and worth every penny! We can't wait to read it to our little girl!

I am pretty darn proud of myself!

Well I don't want to brag, but I can be pretty crafty and creative. John Allen and I went shopping yesterday. We stopped by my favorite store, Swoozie's. They had these fabric covered wipe containers for almost $20.00! I thought to myself...I can make that! So I took my happy little self to Wally World (Wal-Mart) today and bought fabric and ribbon. While JAP was out at the driving range, I settled down in the living room with my hot glue gun and the "wild ruccus began!" It took about 30 minutes, but I have to admit that I am pretty darn proud of myself! I can't wait to make some more for all my friends that are expecting!

Our family just keeps on growing!

My aunt and uncle are expecting their fourth! Such exciting news. They already have the most wonderful kids in the world, my darling Madison (7), cutie pie Mallory (3), and the heartbreaker Brett (1). We could not be more excited to add more babies to our ever growing Carroll brood! Madison called me the other night to tell me the news. She started off by telling me about the new family pet, Biscuit. He is a cute little mixed puppy, golden retriever and something. Then proceeded to tell me about how things were going in second grade. (so hard to believe my sweet little Madison is in 2nd grade!) Then she said "My mommy is having a baby." Thinking she was confused, I said "No, I'm having a baby." She swung back with "I know, but my mommy is too!" I asked her when the baby was coming. She replied " On Friday..." So cute! I heard my uncle Mike in the background yelling "We have a sonogram on Friday!" So anywho, good luck to the Carroll's up in Maryland...we are thinking of you and praying things go well!

Hospital Tour

Last night we visited Wake Med for our hospital tour. The area around the hospital is not that nice. According to John Allen, " It's the ghetto!", but the inside of the hospital and the maternity ward is very nice. The rooms are spacious and they have many safety features to keep mom and baby safe.
We also had our 29 week doctor appointment today. Things are still going well with Emma, she is still head down and ready to go! I had to get another shot of Rhogam, BOOO. The doc recommended that I get a little extra rest this weekend on account of my terrible, wicked, nasty cold. I wish the students in my class would learn to cover their little mouths when they sneeze, cough, etc! If you are a teacher, you know that this is wishful thinking. I am looking forward to a relaxing weekend!

We finished painting...

Here is a preview pic of Emma's room. We finished painting yesterday. (hard to see in the photo, but the walls are pale green)We still have lots of decorating left to do and are planning to get a pink rocker for the corner under the window. This is so fun! Hopefully we will be posting pics of Emma's finished room before Thanksgiving! Keep looking!

Pricked and Poked...We're 27 Weeks!

Our doctor's visit today went well. The "juice" wasn't that bad, but it was hard to get down. About 15-20 minutes after drinking it, Emma started bouncing around! Can I say...sugar rush! The doctor even commented about how active she was. He put the "hear the heartbeat" thing on my belly and she kicked it right off. Dr. Harden said "She's fiesty this morning!" I gave about a gallon of blood to be tested for almost everything. (just kidding, but it was a lot!) We will hear back from the tests soon. We are now going to the doctor every two weeks, and in two short months we will go every week. I counted it up today...only 8 more doctor's visits before Emma gets here! So much to do!

Emma's room is coming together...

We have finally gotten all of Emma's furniture together. Well, I guess I should say John Allen finally got the furniture together. He would not let me put things together...he has been so cute about getting Emma's room ready and keeping it "uncluttered!" We still have lots of decorating to do, but we are glad to have the "bones"of her room. We are planning to paint the room this weekend and maybe pick up a couple of items for decorating. Take a look at that closet...this girl better love pink. So many cute outfits!! I can't believe that we are less than three months away from meeting her, holding her, kissing her, smelling her! In three short months, her sweet little face will be sleeping in this crib. So amazing! I can't wait! We are headed to the doctor in the morning for our blood glucose test. I am not looking forward to drinking that sweet, sweet juice!
