Mommy and Me

Emma tried out her BUMBO seat tonight. She is such a strong little girl and has been able to hold her head up for weeks now! I am so much in love with my little girl. Isn't she just cute enough to eat up?

Hey, It's me again!

Hi, it's me again, Emma! This week has been a busy week. Mom went for her 6 week check-up on Tuesday and got the "ok" to work out and return to normal life again. Since then, we have been running with my new jogging stroller every day! I love being able to see the world while mommy gets a workout. So fun. Mommy is working hard to loose the weight I gave her because my uncle Reese is getting married in May. Only two short months away!!!! Did I mention that Daddy stayed home with us on Monday. It sure was nice to get to spend some time with Daddy and Mommy even went to dinner with friends that night and I stayed home. It was my first time away from Mommy. (I think she was more upset than me!) I got some cool presents in the mail this week. I love my new tiger stuffed animal and my "Lilly" blanket! It's cashmere and so soft on my skin. Great for snuggling! Thanks Lisa and Jan! Well I better get to sleep, Mom and Dad get cranky when I don't sleep. Later Dudes!
PS. Check out all the cool giveaways at Babbling Abby! That lady is very creative! My mom is really hoping to win something. You can find the link on my mommy's page!

Our life to music

Isn't it funny how certain songs remind you of events in your life? There is this Phil Collins song that always reminds me of my bestie Melissa...Can you feel it comin' in the air tonight! Any Hootie or NKOTB song brings back memories of dancing in Hannah's room. The Martina McBride song "Independence Day" reminds me of Ansley singing at the top of her lungs on the softball bus headed to another game. We danced to "I cross my heart" by George Strait on the night we got engaged and to Etta James " At last" at our wedding. Well I decided to add music to our blog and it is the music of Emma. As soon as I found out I was having a girl, the Tim McGraw song " My little Girl" sent me into tears as I imagined our little girl growing up and developing that relationship with her daddy. She already has her daddy wrapped! We listened to the Darius Rucker song "It won't be like this for long" on our way home from the hospital with Emma. Of course, I bauled like a baby, but the song is beautiful and reminds me every day that I need to enjoy every minute of Emma. Before long, she will be all grown up! Do you have any songs that bring back memories?

One Month Check-Up

It is so hard to believe that this little bundle of absolute joy has been in our lives for a whole month! We took Emma for her one month check-up today. She is perfect. 9 lbs. 15 oz., 22 in. long, and growing, growing, growing! Poor thing did have to get a shot today and I think it hurt me more than her. She was such a trooper! I am so blessed to have such a good baby! Praise God! To him be the glory!

Emma's First Valentine's Day

Emma celebrated her first holiday at home with Mom and Dad. We spent the day watching TV, relaxing, and doing a little shopping. The picture shows Emma with her Valentine's Day gifts: a new bouncy chair, a book, and a bear. She even sent out valentines to her favorite people...Grandparents, Daddy, Aunts and Uncles, and a very special valentine to her friend, Charlie. Hope everyone has a nice Valentine's Day!

First Smile Caught on Camera

Emma loved cuddling with her Papa. My dad came up last Saturday and spent the weekend with us. He got to spend some alone time with Emma on Sunday night after the rest of our company left. Papa was very good at getting Emma to calm down and go to sleep. We even got this little smile on camera as she was snuggled up to Papa. Oohhhhh...I have a feeling that Papa is in trouble. He might have another little girl that has him wrapped around her little finger. Hey Emma....we gotta share him. He was wrapped around my finger first. Love you Daddy!

Splish, Splash I was takin' a bath....

Emma's cord (affectionantly called "the stump") finally fell off today and we were able to give her a good bath. She liked the actually bath, but hated getting out. You can probably tell from the picture that she hates being wet and cold....to tell you the truth, I hate it too. It is by far my least favorite part of showering and bathing.
