Mighty Monday Tuesday

  • My BFF (blog friend forever), Abby has created a new fun Monday tradition. This week I plan to join in on the fun.

  • I might have been so busy doing nothing that I didn't have time to do Mighty Monday.
  • I might be doing it on Tuesday instead.
  • I might of had an interview for a teaching position at a private Christian school this morning.
  • I might be a little excited about it, even though it is less money and no benefits.
  • I might have started my 30 day Shred video today...Again.
  • It might have kicked my butt. I just might be a little embarrassed that I can't do jump-n-jacks for two minutes straight.

I might have pigged out on BBQ this weekend even though I am "on a diet." Oink, Oink! I might be totally enjoying every minute of this 80 degree July weather and wishin' and prayin' it would never go away.

I might have let Emma lick a homemade chocolate chip cookie yesterday.

I just might have the neatest fridge on the planet. I might be a little OCD. I might need to chill a little, but I won't. I might be itching to move my babyfood jars because someone (my hubby) got them out of ABC order.

~This has been fun Abby! I just might do it again next week! Maybe?!?

My Favorite Things

I wanted to get to know my readers a little better, so I started Favorite Things Tuesday! Last week I had one participant (Thanks Ms. Isbell). This week, I am hoping for two. Today's theme is favorite Movies. My husband would say that "I don't have a favorite movie. I like too many to say that I have a favorite." BUT, here are a few that I would consider my favs...the ones I can watch over and over and never get sick of. The ones I could probably recite. The ones that can always make me laugh, cry, smile, think...whatever I'm in the mood for!
The Story of Us~ A touching story of a couple doomed for divorce that fall back in love and finally find their way back to each other.
Steel Magnolias~ As southern as sweet tea. A classic. A tearjerker. This movie will make you laugh till your belly hurts, hysterically cry, and will make you question the important things in life.
Shag~ A good 'ole southern girly-girl movie. My friends and I used to watch this movie every time we had a sleepover. Remember Ans! I could recite every word. It was filmed in the good 'ole state of SC too!
The Notebook~ Such a sad movie, but a wonderful, timeless love story. Of course, the book is ten times better than the movie...but that is always the case. Noah, the hopeless romantic, reminds me a lot of my own hubby!

National Treasure~ Everyone needs a good action flick and I prefer the ones with secrets and crazy plot twists. I enjoy learning about secret societies and I am a huge history buff. The history channel is one of my favs. Yes, I'm a geek ya'll.

Legends of the Fall~ Have you seen Brad Pitt in this movie. Enough said. Ooooh La La!

Gone With The Wind~ Classic. If I had to pick one movie as my favorite, this would have to be it. I have always wished I could rent a time machine (if they were invented) and travel back to the time of plantations, big poofy dresses with hats, gentlemen on horseback, petticoats and large over the top parties where couples danced the Virginia Reel. Love it!
Gladiator~ Action, drama, historical places...This is my dad's favorite movie and therefore it has become one of mine.
Fried Green Tomotoes~ Can you tell I'm a southern girl? I love the story of Iggy Threadgood and her family. Tawanda!!!

Forrest Gump~ This movie should be on every person favorite list. Perhaps one of the best movies ever made. I can recite the whole thing. I once played Forrest in a summer camp program during a talent show. My group and I did the scene when they are listing all the ways to cook shrimp...shrimp and grits, shrimp and potatoes, shrimp cabob.....

Elf~ This movie makes me laugh so hard that I pee in my pants my belly hurts. Can you name the four food groups?

Father of the Bride~ I love Steve Martin.

Christmas Vacation~ This is a christmas tradition in our family. Almost as important as trimming the tree and opening presents.
Looking forward to reading about your favorites. Next week will be favorite memories. Get thinking ladies and gents. Remember to link your blog to MckLinky below so that others can read about your favorites.

Update on Miller (my bestie's nephew)

In the words of Melissa herself "Hi there...more Miller news. We have found out today that his Neuroblastoma is high risk after all, requiring the most aggressive treatment available. Although it hasn't spread, the liklihood of recurrence is very high. He will be getting 6 cycles of chemotherapy, surgery, and a high dose chemotherapy follwed by stem cell transplant. A tough year ahead for my family, please keep praying for Miller."

Everyone out there (or the 9 peeps who read by blog) PLEASE PRAY for this little 3 year old darling boy. You can read about his story on THIS page. PLEASE PRAY!

Sensational Six Month Old

A half a year? Already? It is hard to believe! I do have to say that I love this age. I wish I could press pause and enjoy this time for just a little bit longer. These are just a few reasons why I've been loving this stage:

  • Emma is sitting up! Sitting pretty. She can sit up and play with toys. She cracks me up when she makes herself laugh by hitting a toy or banging on her piano.

  • She loves her Mommy! Don't get me wrong, she is fine without me, but if I am in the room...she wants me. I can't help but feel a little joy that she is a mommy monster!

  • She eats a plethera of veggies and fruits. Her favs include sweet potatoes, squash (new fav), bananas, applesauce, and green beans. She is still not a big fan of peas or prunes, but she'll eat anything.

  • She is still desperately in love with her exercauser. I think she would stay in it all day if I would let her.

  • She's wearing 3-6 month clothing. She is long and lean. I am washing her 6-9 month clothes tonight...she is getting too long for her 3-6 sleepers.

  • Her favorite show is the Wonder Pets on Noggin. She watches TV in the morning sitting in her exercauser while I grab a quick shower and get dressed. She loves Linny, Tuck and Ming-Ming too!

  • She cut her first tooth this month! I guess I shouldn't put this on the list of reason why I love this stage, but it really wasn't THAT bad.

  • She started drinking trying to drink out of a sippy cup. Not much success with that yet, but we'll keep trying.

Emma is an absolute joy! Everyone that meets her immediately falls in love. We go Friday for her six month appointment. I'll post later with her weight and stats...I'm guessing she is about 16 pounds. We'll be on blogging vaca until Sunday. Emma, Granna and I are headed to NC today for Emma's doctor's appointment (Yeah, we still haven't found a pediatrician down here) and then the fam is headed to Columbia for the weekend. Ya'll have a great weekend!!

Oprah's Kate's Favorite Things

Now let's spice up your Tuesday with a totally tantalizing list of favs from yours truly! I'm planning to make this a weekly installment and you are welcome to join the fun. Just use Mr. Linky so that others may read up on your favs too! Today will be...General Favorites. Let's get started....

Historical Homes. This is one of my favorites considering it is where we held our wedding reception. My dream is to one day restore a home and live in it. I love the sprawling porches that ooze Southern Charm!
Sectional Sofas. This one is from Pottery Barn and is topping my list at the moment. Sectoinals give you room to spread out and can be ample seating for a rather large gathering. I want one that you can just fall in to. One that when you sit in it, you don't want to ever get up!
Orbit Cinnimon Gum. It's sugar free and oh so good! I have to limit myself. I can chew a pack of gum in a two days flat. Sure my dentists thanks me for that!

Friends. Prehaps the best show on television Ev-ah! I've been reconnecting with the show because we don't have cable in our bedroom. We have been watching the DVD's every night while we get ready to sleep. It just has me rolling with laughter. L-O-V-E it!

Coloring. Yeah, I may be a little kid at heart. There is nothing like coloring to take away the stress of the day.
Clinique Products. I usually buy my facial cleaning products and make-up from them. Bonus Time sends me into a frenzy. They have my number at the local Clinique counter. In the past I have strayed to Merle Norman, Estee Lauder, and Mary Kay....but I always came back.
**Next week will be Favorite Movies!**
