Super Girl

Here she is to save the day! Emma and I are enjoying a little Mommy/Daughter day. This morning, she HAD to put on my socks and play. Here she is....off to fight crime and save all the babies of the world from clothes wielding Mommies. If only she could just stay naked all day.

PS. SO SORRY for the lack of blogging. Moving is comsuming my time and we still don't have internet at the new house....so till next time!!

Fabulous Fourteen Month Old

Em, you are fabulous. Here are a few facts about you.

  1. Your newest thing is puttting food on your head. Just started today. I DO NOT like this game, but you think it is the best. Washing your hair after lunch is just NOT fun.

  2. You weigh 23 lbs. You wear 12-18 months clothing and size 4 diapers.

  3. You love to practice your animal sounds. My favorite is when we ask you what a sheep says. You scream BAA, BAA! Makes me laugh every time. You also can do ducks, cow, dog, cat, and tiger.

  4. I don't think you sit down all day. You walk from one toy to another. I want to put a pedometer on you to see how many miles you walk a day!

  5. You LOVE to read. Makes my heart happy because I LOVE to read. Right now you love to read your rainbow book.

  6. You are getting pretty good at feeding yourself.

  7. You have 12 teeth! I'll tell you one thing, MOLARS ARE NO FUN!

  8. You wear your Keds almost every day.

  9. Your favorite foods are cheese, strawberries, apple sauce, and pasta pick ups.

  10. You have officially dropped your morning bottle and now drink your milk from a sippy cup. You should drop your night time bottle too, but Mommy is just NOT ready.

Em, every day I am so thankful to be your Mommy! You are the sweetest cuddlebug there is and we love you to pieces! HAPPY 14 MONTHS!

My weekend...in pictures.

This past weekend, we did A LOT of this.

DRIVING!

We drove. We sang silly songs. We laughed and tickled our babies. We had fun!

We went to a birthday party. We enjoyed playing with the other kids. Em ate TWO cupcakes and some ice cream. Wonder where she gets her sweet tooth? Hmmm?

We worked a little in the new house. Daddy worked A LOT!

We topped off the weekend with a birthday dinner for Ans. The food was not that great and the service was terrible, but the company was entertaining and definately the BEST part of the night.
The weekend was busy and fun. So far, the week has been long and exhausting. Em is sick with some sort of cough/stuffy nose/cranky all the time/ doesn't want to sleep thing. So I am pooped from the late night parties in Em's crib. Ready for a good nights sleep. Is it the weekend yet?

Cherish the Moments

I sit here this quiet Sunday morning pondering the question, why? Why did a beautiful young girl have to die? In my head, I KNOW that it was God's plan, but in my heart, I ache for the family. A little girl that will never graduate high school, will never go to prom, and will never go to college. A mom who won't be able to pick out her daughter's sweet 16 present, who won't be able to see her in a white wedding gown.

You see, this little girl grew up in my church. She went to Sunday School and I used to keep her in the nursery. She was part of the youth group and was loved by everyone. Last night as her mom wrote "Time sprang forward last night yet my clock has stopped." Please pray for this sweet family as they deal with the devastating, surprising loss. May God be with them and give them peace.

Today, I have hugged Em a little tighter. Kissed her a little longer. I've been cherishing the little things because only God knows the plan for our lives.

New Things

Em has been up to some serious business. I feel like she has gotten so BIG this week. I believe she is just about done with bottles. She no longer wants to sit long enough to take one. We already phased out the morning bottle and I think the night time one may go very soon. I'm not quite ready for it. No bottles means, she's no longer a baby!

She has an obsession with the stairs. It is a rekindled love. Remember this?
She absolutely LOVES the outdoors. Only problem is when you try to take her back inside. Her royal highness throws a royal fit. See pic above!

And, lastly, the girl LOVES some fruit. Strawberries are her current fave as well as bananas and blueberries. She is not, however, a fan of peaches. Huh? Silly girl.
As for Mommy, she has photo overload disease. This disease is characterized by a LARGE number of photos on several different camera cards and NONE in photo albums. Seriously, the last photo that is actually in an album was taken on St. Patrick's Day LAST YEAR!!
Spring Break Goal:Print off and organize photos into albums. Look back over the past year and probably get a little teary eyed. (And probably, take more pics of Em to add to album.)

Busy Life

We have been out living life. Enjoying every minute and trying desperately to get our house really to be lived in by this weekend.

This past weekend, I met some friends for a Fondue Party (SO FUN) and a round of Partini. Partini is probably one of the funnest (i know it's not a word) game that I have played in a long time. I am already looking forward to a rematch and this time BOYS... the girls will win!

Sunday consisted of church and more housework. Emma was great during "big" church and hopefully I can no longer call her the church bully.

I am so glad that this week is halfway over. It has been a long one. Monday was BUNCO night so I didn't get to see Em before bedtime and that just breaks my heart, but it was fun to spend some time with the girls. No more big plans for this week but the weekend is jammed packed again. I love being busy, but I also enjoy those weekends that plans are nowhere in sight!

(I know posts without pics are so boring, but I am at work sitting next to a 5K student that I am almost positive just "went" in his pants. ShooooWeee. How much longer till 6:00? Will post some pics after Em goes to bed.)

Back to School

Like Lindsay, we are looking into preschool. Hard to believe that our little girl will soon need a backpack. I am hoping that a little time away from home will help with our sweetie's sharing problem.
As I told you a while back, we've been having problems at church. Poor girl is the church bully. (j/k) She always wants what the other children have and will do almost anything to get it. I guess it doesn't help that church is right smack in the middle of nap time either. Last week she had a total melt down. I am so glad that my Mom was the nursery worker and not some poor sweet church lady. The little boy she beat up didn't even come to church this past Sunday...I'm guessing he was scared. I'm hoping she gets over this "not sharing phase" fast and magically turns back into my sweet little doodlebug. Yesterday she was wonderful!

The fun thing about school is backpacks! I have picked out several for our little doodle. You help me decide!
